Looks like the so-called war between Blur and Oasis is over. While the two bands had a very public slanging match going on throughout the '90s, Oasis guitarist/songwriter, Noel Gallagher, has finally laid their feud to rest in an interview with The Guardian, branding it "pathetic". The whole thing started when the bands had their respective singles due for release on the same day. This was back in the Parklife/Definitely Maybe heyday and had Blur's Country House up against Oasis's Roll with It. The launch was preceded by weeks of snide comments between bands, with the UK press ruthlessly fanning the flames.

That's all in the past now, and speaking with The Guardian, Noel had this say: "Looking back now, that fight's all so pathetic over two really quite shit pop songs. He's a great artist. He's different from me. I'm not an artist - for me, it just comes out. He does Chinese operas and that kind of thing; he's got more strings to his bow than I'll ever have".

However, asked whether the pair got on, he admitted: "There's always been something between me and him, and I don't know what it is". For the record, Blur beat Oasis to number one, although the Oasis album then went on to trounce Blur, making Oasis international superstars.

And in related news, Blur have now confirmed that they're reforming (all four members) for a special, one-off performance in Hyde Park next year. Whether this will see a full tour remains to be seen, but the guys haven't played live together since 2002.
