On arrival
All first time consultations at Canning HealthCare Centre begin with a questionnaire. Details requested on the form may vary depending on the practitioner you have chosen to see. Two main groups of questions cover your contact details and brief health related details.

Chiropractic
First consultation

A short introductory video explains the benefits and essential information about a Chiropractic Care Plan.
Following the video a thorough consultation and health history taking is conducted by a Chiropractor.
A physical examination covering orthopaedic and neurological testing comes next. During this phase the Chiropractor will be looking at your: -
• Range of movement, "Is your movement restricted and if so in which direction?"
• Reflexes, "Are the signals from your muscles reaching your brain?"
• Skin sensitivity, "Are the signals from your skin reaching your brain?"
• Muscle strength testing, "How strong are the signals to your muscles?"
Finally a picture taking opportunity (x-rays). The subject will be your spine. Canning HealthCare Centre takes full spinal pictures from the front and side for use in determining the most suitable Chiropractic Care Plan for you.
Your first consultation will conclude at this point. Typically this process takes 1 hour.

Why is there no adjustment at the first consultation?
At Canning HealthCare Centre our Chiropractors take necessary time to review all the information collected during your first consultation to ensure everything correlates. Once all the information is correlated a diagnosis is formed and a Chiropractic Care Plan recommended.

Chiropractic second consultation 'Report of Findings'

This consultation is known as a 'Report of Findings'. First there will be a short informative video to watch.
Following the video your Chiropractor will answer your most pressing questions: -
1. What's wrong?
2. Can Chiropractic help me?
3. How long will it take to get better?
4. What is the cost?
At this point your Chiropractor will do an adjustment to begin your Chiropractic Care Plan.

Further Chiropractic visits
Adjustments
Adjustment visits may take between 5 and 15 minutes each.
Progress Examinations
Periodic 'Progress Examinations' will be scheduled to ensure your Chiropractic Care Plan is having the desired results.
