Sclerotherapy is the treatment used to eliminate unsightly veins, small veins referred to as spider veins or capillaries, either facial or on the legs and larger veins being more commonly referred to as varicose veins. The technique involves injecting the veins with a solution, which causes them to react and collapse over a period of weeks. The vessels are gradually absorbed by the body and fade from view.
